In April, we had guest teacher, Nigel Armitage in to teach a six-day course in hand-sewing. It was a unique opportunity to dive deep into this critical leatherworking skill. When students took a look at the stitching difference from day 1 to day 6, the benefit was self-evident. Each person had a remarkable improvement in not just the basic stitch but in several variations which will help them to overcome a wide range of project challenges. What was most interesting to me was seeing how each person found their own style of stitch. One that fit with their own aesthetic and preferred types of work. Nigel is an avid photographer and below is a day-by-day summary of the workshop.
